 The Mud • Do you have friends or family to run with? Sign up your team! Teams must be a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10. Teams can be all male, all female or mixed. 10% Discount to teams registering for 5K mud race. • You must be at least 8 years old on or before September 30, 2017 to participate in the 5K mud race. • Any runner ages 8-17 must have a parent or guardian sign a permission form to participate. • Please note - A processing fee will be added at the end of each registration. • Refunds for cancellations will be given until August 31, 2017; No refunds after that date. Processing fees for online payments will not be refunded. • Race day registration will be on Friday, September 29 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce, 18 Campbell Street, Luray, VA 22835, or at Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park on race day from 8:00am - 11:00am. • Lots of Mud * Series of Obstacles and Challenges * Free Parking * Race T-Shirt * Race Patch * Chip Timing * Wave Times * Teams and Individuals Welcome • Shorter lines at the obstacles…we will have a wave start. Awards will be based on chip time so you can still start last and finish first! • You can go through the course at your own speed. We recommend wearing lightweight clothing that dries quickly and a pair of running shoes. We will have water stations to rinse all the mud off once you cross the finish line. We will have women and men changing tents, so bring an extra pair of clothes and shoes to change into. Volunteer Want to get involved? You may be the first face that participants see. You may be the person cheering on Mudurance runners while they are on the course. Whatever you do, you’ll be at the heart of it all, creating life-changing experiences for everyone. Volunteer Roles • Parking: Help everyone find a parking space in the proper areas. • Registration & Packet Pick Up: Provide the first welcome to the Mudurance Participants and Spectators. • Starting Line: Help Mudurance runners get lined up and ready to start the race. • Finish Line: Hand out Mudurance Patches to each racer that crosses the finish line. • Challenges & Obstacles: Help the Mudurance runners with the challenge or obstacle we have you stationed at. • Customer Service: Help provide on-site customer service at its best: help pump up, organize, encourage and congratulate our Mudurance runners. • Other Areas of Need: Be flexible and willing to help wherever we put you. Course The course is challenging and we need people to help encourage and motivate our participants as they run this 3.1 miles of mud, challenges and obstacles. Requirements • Must be 16 years of age or older. • Attend your shift. Our volunteers play a critical role at our events. If you don’t show up, it affects the event experience. • We start early – morning shifts kick off at 6.00am. We need people who are up for the challenge, will follow through on their commitment, like working with others, and are willing to jump right in.

The Right Spectator Outfit • There will be plenty of opportunities to walk the course to cheer on your Mudurance runner. • With all that walking, and all that mud, you should wear whatever you will be most comfortable in. • We recommend lightweight layers, sun/rain protection and comfortable walking shoes. • Don’t Forget to Bring Your Camera!
